Business phone systems have come a long way in the last 5 years. Many people have now made the move to, or are at least familiar with, VOIP Telephony and the numerous benefits this brings.

Far less familiar is what are now known as ’Hosted Telephone Systems’. This technology has actually been around for well over 10 years, but it is only in recent years that connectivity (broadband speed) has enabled this technology to really come into it’s own.

A Hosted Telephone System, is still a VOIP system, but the key difference is that it is similar to the Cloud IT concept, in that you no longer need all the expense and hassle that comes with a traditional on-premise system, as it can be hosted in the cloud (secure data centres).

This delivers an impressive range of benefits to business, including increased functionality & flexibility, reduced costs (no initial capital investment) and even more important redundancy and disaster recovery. With a quality hosted phone system, if your internet connection were to fail, your users can pick up their phones and simply plugin at another location with an internet connection. Alternatively they can make use of a mobile app and receive their landline calls on their mobiles using their 3G or 4G connection.

This technology is known as Unified Communications As A Service (UCAAS), unifying the ways businesses communicates across devices and locations.

We believe hosted telephony is the future for a large majority of businesses, our solution can deliver HD quality over a single ADSL line. This is of course dependent upon the required number of concurrent calls, but typically a low speed connection could handle 3-4 concurrent HD calls, and even more if HD is not required (HD requires 3 times the bandwidth compared with a standard quality call).
